In a review of the city's retail stores we desire to give prominence to such an old established concern as the boot and shoe store of Mr. Bernard. Mr. Bernard has commodious premises, measuring 30x80 feet, located at No. 232 Linden street, in which he has a full line of boots and shoes of well known makes, including Dorothy Dodds Lady Shoe, and the manufactures of the well known Peters Shoe company of St. Louis. Mr. Bernard has been in business for twenty-seven years and has the oldest established business in his line in the city. His store is stocked with high grade goods of the value of about $5,000. Mr. Bernard hails from Montreal and is a most industrious and conscientious merchant and also a respected and public spirited citizen.
