The Larimer Dry Goods Store
This is one of the oldest, largest and most reliable stores in Fort Collins. The business originated 25 years ago and has been under its present able and successful management for the past two years. As the name implies, the store is an emporium for dry goods, including ladies' garments, ladies, misses' and children's shoes, gloves, carpets, etc. The proprietor is Mr. A. C. Kalmus, a shrewd, wide-awake merchant, who has been wise enough to appreciate the public demand for reliable goods and has stocked his premises accordingly. His goods are all bought in the Eastern markets and he visits New York city twice annually. His store measures 70x100 feet and is located at the corner of North College and Mountain avenues. He has a large number of employees, does a very extensive trade, and is known to be a man of exceptional business ability, courtesy and honor. He is fraternally allied with the Elks, K. of P. and Royal Arcanum and is a public-spirited and loyal citizen.
New Cash Grocery
This establishment was opened some months ago and is located at No. 238 Linden street.
The proprietor is Mr. C. G. Cummings, a native of Illinois, who came to this state nearly
two years ago. Mr. Cummings deals in all staple and fancy groceries and is most particular
as to the quality of goods handles by him, with the result that he has met with gratifying
success. He is one of the many merchants who have recently started and are enthusiastic with
regard to the present condition and the future prospects of the city. Mr. Cummings is a
young man of pleasing and frank manner and his well stocked store, measuring 25x60 feet, corroborates his candid statement that business is good. He is a member of the Elks and well merits the cordial support received by him.
