The Gem Grocery
The business of this concern was established eight years ago. It is now owned and conducted by Whiteman & Nelson, who carry a stock of the value of about $6,000 in staple and fancy groceries. The store is capacious and is situated at No. 149 Linden street The firm has a large and family trade, employ competent help and have a delivery wagon. The store is exceptionally well managed, and patrons receive not only first class goods but prompt and polite attention. The partners of the firm are Mr. J. M. Whiteman and Mr. F. M. Nelson, both industrious, upright and pushing young men. They are well known in fraternal circles, being members of the Elks and other societies.
Blaine Hotel
This hotel is located at No. 224 Linden street, and is owned and conducted by Mr. George F. Brinker, who has been well known in Fort Collins district for well nigh thirty years. It consists of two floors, containing sixteen bedrooms, dining room etc. Here the weary traveler or prospective residenter will find comfortable accommodation at very moderate rates, namely $1 per day or $18 per month. The rooms are clean, tidy and well furnished, the service is excellent, while the board is all that can be desired. Mr. Brinker is an old timer and knows how to make hotel life pleasant for his patrons and does it.
