One of the most important features connected with the growth and prosperity of Fort Collins is the substantial rise in real estate values, the rise being strictly indicative of increased prosperity, and not in any way due to prearranged manipulation for the mere purpose of inflating values. There has practically been no approach to speculation. The healthy and normal prosperity of the city naturally caused the inevitable increase in real estate values, as also an increase in population.
Last year witnessed the erection of more buildings or homes than any other year in the history of Fort Collins. There were beyond question over 300 homes, principally cottages of from 6 to 10 rooms, erected last year. These were mostly built by merchants and settlers. The building trade of 1905 to all appearances will beat last year's record, as already a very large number of contracts for the erection of homes are in the hands of contractors and builders.
